Recovery and wellbeing
Physiotherapy and recovery
Recovery is mostly what happens between appointments. Our physiotherapists build a plan around that, and use the studio to make sure it is working.

First appointments are sixty minutes: history, movement assessment, treatment where it helps, and a programme you leave with rather than one that arrives later.
The studio at Ashbourne Mews is used for progression and testing, so that changes to your programme are based on what you can now do, not on how long it has been.
Who it is for
- Injuries, persistent pain and post-operative recovery
- Returning to sport or to physical work
- Long-term conditions where movement is part of the plan
- Anyone who has been given exercises but not a reason for them
What to expect
First visit
Sixty minutes, including movement assessment and initial treatment.
Your programme
A written programme with video references, sent before you get home.
Progression
Reassessment in the studio rather than a guess at the next stage.
Joined up
Shared notes with your GP and, where relevant, the therapy team.
How to prepare
- Wear or bring clothing you can move in
- Bring imaging or operation notes if your recovery follows surgery
- Be ready to describe a typical day, not only the painful moments
- Allow time to practise the programme before you leave
This page describes how an appointment works. It is general information, not medical advice, and it does not replace a consultation.
