Everyday care
Virtual consultations
The same practice, joined from wherever you are. Virtual appointments are held by the clinicians who work in our buildings, not by a separate remote service.

A virtual appointment is a normal appointment that happens to be held over video or by telephone. It is booked in the same diary, held by the same clinicians, and written into the same record.
Some things genuinely need a room — an examination, a scan, a procedure. When that is the case your clinician will say so during the call and help you book it, rather than leaving you to work it out afterwards.
Who it is for
- Follow-up conversations about results or a treatment plan
- Questions that do not need an examination
- Repeat prescription reviews and travel advice
- Anyone who cannot easily reach a clinic that week
What to expect
Joining
A link arrives by email and text. No account, no app, no download.
During
Twenty or thirty minutes, depending on the appointment you booked.
If a room is needed
Your clinician books the in-person appointment with you during the call.
After
The same written summary you would receive after an in-clinic visit.
How to prepare
- Find somewhere private with a reliable connection, and headphones if you have them
- Have your medication list and any recent readings to hand
- Join a few minutes early so any camera permissions are settled
- Telephone appointments are always available if video is difficult
This page describes how an appointment works. It is general information, not medical advice, and it does not replace a consultation.
